Truth be told, I haven’t been keeping up with RuPaul’s Drag Race, so I was pleasantly surprised when I heard about this season’s stand-out contestant, Jinkx Monsoon. In this mini doc by filmmaker Alex Berry, Jerick Hoffer transforms into the superstar Jinkx Monsoon. The clip paints Hoffer as a really thoughtful artist, while articulating everything I love about drag culture.

I’ve always had feelings about the whole street style thing. You know, those dozen-or-so professional anorexics who run around dressed in (tens of) thousands of dollars of the day’s latest trends, just happening to bump into photographers as they go about their way.
